Photographer's Note

St. Peters Abbey in Gent. Founded in the 7 th Century by the Benedictines.Destroyed several times. First by the Normans, then during thereligious wars between North and South, finally by the French, it was finally bought by the City of Gent in 1810 and was used by the military until 1948. In our days it is a cultural centre and harbours famous exhibitions.
I passed through this morning on my way back to Luxemburg. Sorry, too tired to produce a French translation. Having enough trouble producing an English text. French will be made avalilable on request.:-))
