Photographer's Note

We saw hundreds of photos from Cuba which show characteristic taxis that use the cars of the 60s,that reminds the Cuban revolution and testimony of the next American embargo. But perhaps this is the first that shows the luxurious interiors, leather seats and super-equipped dashboard. Of course, no comfort, but they have the advantage of costing very little.

TAXI

Abbiamo visto centinaia di foto da Cuba che mostrano i caratteristici taxi che utilizzano le auto degli anni 60 ,ricordo della rivoluzione cubana e testimonianza del successivo embargo americano. Ma forse questa è la prima che mostra i lussuosi interni, sedili in pelle e cruscotto super accessoriato. Certo, non sono il massimo del comfort, ma hanno il vantaggio di costare pochissimo.

This is a very different take on the voltaic Cuban cars, and looks like a still from a movie or TV show. I really like the idea that you've had here and the bright warm sun makes the picture really inviting. Nicely done

yes, I never had seen them from interior.
this sent me to the past. when I was a teen I lived in a house of a friend of my family and he had an american old car (1952) and it was very old and had a big hole in the floor. he wanted to restaure the car someday, but he never got that.

Everything here has seen better days, but at least the driver seems to be still in a good shape in spite of his grey hair. It's a very simple photo but there are many details that car lovers will enjoy and nice colours too.

Tua as bien capturé l'action du chauffeur de taxi. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails de l'intérieur du taxi. La bonne luminosité rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

J'aime beaucoup cette scène cubaine par excellence. Le grand plaisir de la décapotable lorsqu'il fait beau et chaud. Mais si on regarde attentivement on voit que l'usure du tacot commence à paraître.

I have really enjoyed taking a spin in this taxi sports car. It may have a few shabby bits of upholstery but the sunshine, scenery and company more than makes up for it!
I have to say, a great idea to photograph the taxi and driver from this angle!

idea, composizione e realizzazine sono superbe. Hai creato una foto molto vivace ed interessante, i particolari sono eloquenti e ci descrivono un' aspetto importante della vita quotidiana in Cuba. That's "Uber" in its original way, Luciano. I heard once that in Cuba every private driver can post a "Taxi" sign and take passangers. Great capture of this convertible taxi driver, old model that its grandeur days were over - but in Cuba those still riding.

vu que le prix est bas , l'on regardera moins l'état de la voiture , du moins l'intérieur, le top en plus que c'est une décapotable, grande différence avec les taxis a Las Vegas a tout point vue :-)

A unique scene from the inside of a Cuban taxi. As you mention, it might be the first photo of such a scene. Lovely details of the interior and instruments. I really like the windshield splitted into two parts and the worn seat in the foreground. Superb:) TFS.

Luciano, Cuba is worlwide famous for its vintage American cars. To import foreign cars was forbidden during decades in the country that s why most of the vehicles running on Cuban roads are dinosaurs. That cabriolet taxi is an example, original leather seats and dashboard reminding the 60's cars. The car body has been repainted.
