Photographer's Note

Standing there, taking a picture of the mural (see the workshop) on the street side of the building, I suddenly felt like he was taking a picture of me as I was taking a picture of him. This, and the rest of the murals that decorate all sides of the The Pueblo's building at 348 North 2nd Avenue. Google says it's a recording studio.

The artist behind this work is Lalo Cota. He's is one of Phoenix's most renowned and prolific muralists. His works grace several walls in the Roosevelt Row arts district, and well as plenty of other parts of the city. Born in Mexico, he often incorporates skulls and other imagery that's prevalent in Mexican culture. He can be contacted at:
