600 years ago, Hawaiians discovered Lapakahi and settled here to fish and farm. Koai'e Cove is in back of this replica grass house, with bamboo frame.
This village prospered because the People worked hard to sustain their resources and support their "'ohana".

Today Lapakahi is a State Historical Park with replica houses and agricultural artifacts. A fine trail meanders thoughout and Koai'e Cove is a scenic idyllic unspoiled natural sight.
