An old locomotive is parked at Kingston station, facing City Hall. The building was completed in 1844 with an hemispherical dome with no clock faces or belfrey. In 1908 the cupola on top of the dome and part of the dome burned and rebuilt with the new Seth Thomas clock.

Hello Robert,

This is a pleasant composition, I like it!
I like the placement of the old engine, it creates fine dynamics i relation to other elements in the frame...
Accurate point of view, a well balanced composition with fine details!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Very beautiful! I like the colors and detail. The pov is perfect with the train in the fg. Very nice architecture! TFS and have a happy day!

Hello Robert! Amazing point of view. Wonderful composition. Nice lightness. Very nice colors. Good capture. Well done!

Hey Rob, I have also attempted a few pics on TE of steam locomotives, with varying degrees of success (ie. not much!). It is good to see representative examples of history being exhibited in the present day. The loco in your pic seems perhaps of around 1940s vintage? Well done.

Bonjour Robert
Amicalement
Denis!

Hi Robert,
a wonderfully lit, engaging composition.
Great perspective, and the overall definition is what I know from all your efforts : flawless.

Hello robert. Thanks for sharing the old locomotive well placed in sharp detail in the frame. Very good view of the station and I noticed the British Phone Booth by the station as well. Very good framing and well done. Best regards. Jusni

This is an excellent shot! Sharp, correct exposure, beautiful composition. Like these locomotives when they are steaming.
Best wishes,
Achim

Bonjour Robert,
A great POV and composition here, catching the engine in such pleasing balance with the cupola of the building. Very good framing with the lamp post and all in all , very smart indeed!Regards, Joni

Un point de vue très intéressant sur cette vieille locomotive (qui date de quand?) Belle décoration devant la gare de style ancien! Les deux éléments donnent un bon équilibre; le tout sous un ciel majestueux!
MarieLouise.

Hi Robert,
Excellent POV with the old locomotive effectively sharing the frame with the lovely clock tower and engaging lampost.
Excellent clarity with fine sharp details.
I have been to Kingston via Wolf Island and I would bet this locomotive was built in my home town of Schenectady, NY
Regards, Tom

Robert,
Excellent composition with the inclusion of the front of the engine using it to balance the dome of the city hall. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. I visited this great little town in 2002 but the city hall building was covered in scaffolding.
This is a very fine shot!
TFS,
Asa
