Coromandel Peninsula II Photo

Photographer’s Note

This was taken earlier than the my previous capture and is also more North up the Peninsula where the Bays are more prominent. If you go more further North East up the Peninsula you will be able to see Auckland City and surrounding from a high vantage point (approx 200-250km away from here).

Hi Jim

I am always a fan of your POVs and generally, of your colors; But I am thoughtful in front of the greens, that seems, as in your previous Coromandel peninsula picture, a bit artificial. Even if I recall the fantastic and almost magic hues of colors of the paddy fields under the sunset in India, I can't remember to have ever seen such a green. Which doesn't mean that it does not exist, of course, but I am somehow skeptical, and I would like your confirmation that this is the true color. because it looks so unbelievable!... If it is true, then definitely, I have to consider New Zealand as magic land! It looks so wild ans calm in same time, that's disconcerting!

PS: eversmile (Marine) isn't right, the green of the landscape is really amazing strong, similar than in Ireland.

Hello Jim,
Another exceptional view of the rolling hills swathed in that beautiful light.
Low tide in the inlet has given it another dimension by exposing the sand flats and water flows.

Hi Jim, the image is - as usual - flawless. The big sky and the effect of those wispy clouds on the deep blue is exceptional. And the light on the hills is the highlight of the photo. Getting up this early really does have its positives. TFS and have a happy Wednesday, Lisa.

this view is even more beautiful! The meadows look as if thick carpets are covering the hills. A fantastic composition with a magical atmosphere created by this amazing light. The wonderful colors are very well matching. My compliments!

The fresh green of spring and early summer is very attractive in this light!
It is a fine view of this scene, with a coastline split by fjords and rivers...
A balanced composition with very good colours!

Stunning image! Good compo and fantastic colours. Someone mentioned that the greens do not look natural, but I can confirm that the greens in NZ are like this. Comming from South Africa I was absolutely dumbstruck by the fantastic greens of NZ.
