Photographer's Note

Fishing boats in the sheltered lagoon of the tranquil village of Santa Cruz Cabralia on the Bahia coast. I haven’t read up on the Brazilian coastal fishery like I did on that of the Algarve, so I alas can only say that these boats are amongst the biggest types of the Santa Cruz Cabrilia fleet and that the local fishermen have organized themselves in a cooperation.
The town's tag is: “Berço da Civlição Brasileira” because on a hill overlooking the modern town are the remnants of one the oldest Portuguese colonial settlements in the country, founded by Pedro Alvares Cabral.

Hoje (Today) is the title of a recent album and track of beautiful Gal Costa from Bahia, released in 2005 on Trama It’s wonderfully relaxed, suave and sometimes sultry.
So today a picture/text combination to celebrate the coming of a warm and sunny spring weekend ;-).

PCS2 tech: cropped, got rid of the spots and smudges resulting from a verrry dirty sensor, altered the saturation, contrast, curves and levels, enhanced the colour- and luminosity edges and surfaces for the whole pic and some elements separately, USM-ed , added a frame and saved for the web.
