Just got back from a trip up to Northern California and Oregon, I hope to have some good shots to share by next week. In the mean time, here is another one of the same area as my last post.

On our way back to the boat getting ready to leave the village, this woman was on her way back to her straw hut. I saw the monkey grabbing on to her shirt, they seem to have such a close relationship. I guess the little monkey would regard her as his mother since she had him since he was just a baby. She offered me to hold the monkey and I tried, the monkey scream and cry and reaching for her like human babies always want to stick to their parent and not let stranger hold them. (Thinking back, it was a stupid idea trying to hold that monkey, what if he bite or scratch me. Medical care was so far out of reach in the remote jungle)

Kodak Gold 200 Film. This one is in the nice open area with very good light, the scan turn out very well I think. Thanks for looking in.

Hi Way,
I learnt about the Huoarani ethnic group through a book someone gave me a couple of years ago and this is the first time I come across an image of them in TE. Lovely reencounter!
Superb quality for such a sweet image. This little fellow's look is priceless.
Regards,
Maria

Hello Way,

A very interesting note and a scan of quality.
The expression of the woman is very well collected. I like too the composition with the woman and the monkey well located in the image and the vegetation in the BG. Intersting and beautiful, a good photowork.
Best regards,
Roger

Hello Way! What a nice story and I agree it was not the best idea as you describe it and we were once sitting in a restaurant where someone owned a monkey and my mother got badly bitten (into her finger) by the animal and it was such a theater :) But you know, I have a million things that I should not have done so we are still around, hey! I like your photo, so cute indeed, and the animal seems so shy and lost somehow but this is just my interpretation. Good scan, it it really is, I guess I would not have the nerve to scan all my pictures, a horror thought but worthwile if you have the patience. Nice to have you back, Sir :)))) Barbara.

Hi, Splendid portrait of the Huarani woman and the monkey. Very interesting note. You have just got back from Oregon, I am here now. It is a pity we did not met. It would be fun!

Hi Way,
good to have you back on TE! You did well here, com[positon of this portrait works well. I like this torn t-shirt she's wearing - it adds to the mood of the picture. DOF control is great.
thanks for sharing and for the note
greetings
michal

Hi, Way. A good portrait of this woman and her monkey. As you write, they seem to be very close to each other. The DOF is very good and they both stand out well against the green background. The scan is excellent.
Best wishes,
Philippe

Hello Way,
You really obtained an impressive quality for a scanned picture.
I like the look of the woman to the monkey where we can get a feeling of tenderness. Maybe I would just have brightened a little bit the monkey's face for an easier reading of the smile on its face.
Have a nice day,
Best regards, Christian

Hi Way!
I see you have taken more photos there! It's very well scanned and I like the pose of the woman, it's like if she was taking care of a child. I guess it's the first time I'm seeing one of these monkeys. Generally I see them represented on toys or cartoons.

Hello Way,
Nice capture. This little monkey is so cute.
Nice moment of tenderness.
Regards,
Marianne
