Photographer’s Note
This photo was not particularly easy to take, as there were so many trees and rocks in the way... But this is Pozo de Esmeralda in El Paují, Southern Venezuela. It's where the Great Savannahs meets the Amazon Jungle, surrounded by majestic table top mountains and rushing waterfalls everywhere. This particular one is hidden in a forest, a short hike from the mainroad leading further into the interior from El Paují. It's a very peaceful place and you can bathe in the small, emerald green lake.
