Photographer’s Note
Smälla Griftegård is a small cementary in the middle of the forest. As it serves two small villages the cementary is placed between them, a lake on one side and forest on the others. A special place so full of tranquility.
As I walked through it yesterday this stone caught my eye. At first because of its color and shine, it is so well kept it looks new. Secondly because there is no family name, just the first name Kjell. Then I noticed the numbers.....
I wish we had had the chance of getting to know Kjell, he would have been 70 this year. He could have told us so much from his long life. If just...
What happened to Kjell? Who keeps the stone so well after all those years?

Une sensibilité très sympathique, qui s'exprime dans la note et dans un photo très belle.

Hmmm, yes... interesting how we sometimes come across so many mind-boggling things, just walking around.
But you're lucky as your senses and perception are above an average. This sometimes makes you happy, but from time to time you wish you hadn't noticed some things as they can shake your feelings in not particulary happy way...
I see this photo as your contribution to keeping this grave well maintained - and I regard your act!

Hi Ebbe, Very good and very respectful note. I think this is something I myself would not post. Exactly the fact that it is so well maintained and people who maintain it, would see this picture on the web, unasked. Nevertheless, you do it with so much respect, and I like it how you describe your thoughts after seeing this.
The child/man is apparently still missed by some people, and that is surely very good to know.

Interesting image, Ebbe, and interesting note. Your composition, rendering of textures and colors, with a tight crop, are - in my eyes - very respectful and highly appropriate regarding the upcoming holiday. Also your note is respectful, revealing what inner thoughts this gravestone awoke in you. I find myself sometimes walking in cemeteries unknown to me, reflecting over the issues of life and death, it's inevitable in such a place. On the other hand, when visiting my parents grave - beautifully situated close to the castle in my old hometown Kalmar - I reflect over them and my life in particular. You did a fine job here. Very well done!
