Photographer’s Note
Salvador Dalí doesn't need any presentation and I guess the same goes to this fascinating Teatre-Museu Dali located in his birth town, which was designed in great part by him. It occupies the theatre where he made his first first public exhibitions. The building was bombed during the Spanish Civil War and it was rebuilt to house the museum, which opened in 1974.
Dali's tomb is in the basement, despite he wanted to be buried next to his wife Gala, in the nearby castle of Púbol, where she lived her last years.
The tower seen outside it's from a Gothic church located next to the museum.
WS: Another view with much the same POV. Some months ago I attached another WS to a post of burGu taken in a recent exhibition of Dali works held in Istambul. It shows the glass window seen from the yard.
Location (latitude, longitude): 42.2682,2.95943

Bonjour Jose,

Hello Jose,
I like the point of view of this wide-angle shot.
It's pleasing and there's plenty to discover!
The reflection is fantastic and the skylight is adding impact to this beautiful composition.
Sharp and clean presentation adorned with a classic frame.
Well done. Regards.

Hi Jose,
interesting POV, the cut wall on the right and on the ceiling forms a perfectly straight line. Lots of light in there, which is creating a very positive atmosphere. I don´t like the cut off head and arm on the bottom, I think it would have been better without them.

Hi Jose,
You of course answer the title question by the image. It's a fasciating place. Your upwards angle shot shows that there's surrealistic details even on places one rarely looks. Nice combination of colours too.

excellent composition and fanmtastic colours. The hollow/bollow effect of the window is obvious.
The view and the mural are beautiful.

Hello José,
This is a veritable classic for TE. The composition created with the very wide angle lens incorporates so much dimension, in the manner of Salvador Dali's personality and passions. Incidentally, you might remember the photo I submitted last summer, "Dali and the Doll." You had critiqued it at the time, but did you get a chance to watch Salvador Dali on "What's My Line".
Warm regards to the family,

hi Jose
It is good for me to learn about Portugal and Spain from posts like this one on TE, it saves me trips to bookstore to browse the photo books.
I can only marvel at the UWA view of this interior which is the best application of your sigma 10-20mm. Amazing detail and sharpness of the architecture here, but what I like most must be the light through that glass window and the domed roof with a bit of white building sticking out.
Very well presented.

hi Jose,
well, you've just made the point, surrealistic architecture does exist :) I'm sure Dali himself would appreciate your photo that seems to defy all rules of geometry and physics. sharp angles and smooth curves, bright colours and clean lights - love the juxapostation of shapes and patters. one thing I don't like is the half-arm and half-head in the lower left corner, tilting camera a little more would have avoided them. or was the inclusion intentional?
best,
Kristine

Hola Jose,
Excelente trabajo.
Un abrazo,

Hello Jose, that's one of the most aesthetic indoor photos I've seen lately. It has a sort of 3D effect. But I do prefer the one in the WS, since the arm on the left hand side of this photo spoils the mystery of the atmosphere a little bit. For the head, you could have cropped it but but when it comes to the arm there's nothing to be done. In this regard, I would go to the photo which is in the WS, even if the angle is narrower than this one but you have compansated this by rather focusing on the painting.
Best regards, Tolga
