Photographer’s Note
How do you know when you have the "photographer's disease?"
It's your final night in Port de Sóller. As dusk approaches, you sit down for dinner with your spouse at "AmoR RomA," a nice Italian restaurant with outdoor seating along the waterfront. The waiter takes your order. The sun begins to set. It's spectacular, with brilliant colors reflected off of the clouds and then off of the water.
What do you do?
Instead of simply enjoying the lovely moment with your spouse, you say, "Excuse me, dear, but would mind if I step outside for a moment to take a picture?"
I have "photographer's disease."
Fortunately, I have a tolerant spouse!

Hello William,
Amazing colours!
It reflects so well off the water, making the surface shimmer in the last rays of light from the setting sun....
The exposure is accurate and inclusion of the palm tree adds excitement and depth to the composition!
And as a photographer you both can re-live the fine moment - again and again and again, for the years to come...

Fine William, very fine,
the French have a very effective expression to say it: "comme il faut" as it needs to be. A fantastic sky which with its charming color gives a distinctive flavour to the whole photo, an interesting and well defined black silhuette of the coastline, a shining inflamed sea and... the unavoidable palmtree at the right!
Welcome in the club of sunsets performers!
Best regards,
Donato

Hi William,
Obviously the rich color of the after sunset sky is the main show here, and you got that just right here, the division between the water land and sky is great, you allocate more to the sky for the variation of colors and shades which is a great choice. The inclusio of the palm tree is a good call, the only I would have done differently here is to not crop in the middle of the tree trunk. I would have prefer for you to zoom back just a little or pan to the right a little more to include the whole tree trunck and a maybe an inch more after it. I know it's not always feasible.
Stunning colors and beautiful sunset, and I love the glimmering reflection in the water, worth taking a few minute to capture this moment. Thanks.

Hi William,
I'm so glad you have a generous spouse!! I could not resist the stunning colors of this sunset; great framing too with the palm silhouette and the reflection. It reminds me a bit of a sunrise in Cabo but your colors are even more vibrant. I had the best lobster I've ever eaten in La Coruna.
