Photographer’s Note

Marvão is a spectacular medieval walled village perched 900 metres high on a rocky crag. The narrow cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses many with decorative doors and windows from the 15th century, wind their way up to one of the best preserved castles in Portugal dating from the 13th century.

The views from the castle are truly breathtaking looking out over wild rocky landscape towards Spain and the Serra da Estrela mountains in Portugal, which are often snow capped in winter.

Olá Rui,

Na ultima 4ªfeira estive no Marvão.Estava haver que nunca mais lá ia :)
É um local fantástico muito bem preservado, fiquei muito contente com o que por lá vi. Vou voltar certamente, fiz muitas, muitas fotos... Pelo que vi no Marão acho que esta tua foto não mostra a beleza do local. É um pormenor da vila mas pouco elucidativo,não sei se percebes o que quero dizer.O branco das casas com o sol a dar-lhe com força é difícil de fotografar mas ficou um bom branco... Também fotografei esta rua mas parece-me que no sentido oposto existe mais pontos de interesse, opiniões.
