Photographer’s Note
Wandering through the souks of Marrakech we came across this little snippet of daily life. Butcher, customers, children as well as cats waiting for scraps. You can see the man in blue also as a part reflection in a mirror in the shop.
I've levelled the photo as best I could but nothing was symmetrical!

don´t worry about graphical lines.. the picture ist a good one, showing a little scene out of the daily life there, so colorful, so symphatic..

Hi Ian.
I know exactly what you mean about trying to 'straighten' a photo in which nothing is actually straight, like this modest butcher's shop. It's a terrific daily life shot with a great little well-placed ensemble of people and cats. The colours are well rendered and the whole scene has a welcome candid look about it - well timed! And I like the reflected view of the man in blue, who seems a little shady! Great work.

Andrew

Marrakech...what a powerful experience was to visit this place and MOrocco as well.
I love this old fashioned butcher...it's much richer in life than our western "asceptic" shops. I also like the cropping to include cats wandering there around...waiting for some meat pieces to fall down!
this shot would fit to my personal theme old fashoned-local-no global jobs

Hi Ian,
Great shot. You have unmasked the hooded man:)
Great streetscape. You grabbed a fantastic opportunity presenting us with the 'varied' customers patiently waiting to be served :))
Regards,
Graham.

Hi Ian, this is really interesting, there's alot going on. I like the partial reflection of the blue hooded guy. The cats eying off the food gave me a laugh, as did the baby eying off the cats. I also love the dynamism created by the moving shopkeeper and the lady. And prices in the local currency always add such a great flavour and feeling to a place. Great shot, TFS, Lisa.

This is an excellent view of daily life... and those are some well fed cats. I really like how artistic this photo is, yet it is also real. Excellent post.

Hello Ian
Such a great daily life photo - there is so much going on. The cats are well fed on scraps, the children are fascinated with the cats, the butcher is concentrating on the task at hand - and the hooded man is a real bonus. Very clever to have captured his reflection in the mirror. Tfs, Marlene
