El golfo Ártabro (o Arco Ártabro) es la denominación común con la que se conocen las rías de La Coruña, Betanzos, Ares y Ferrol, cuya autoría corresponde al geógrafo Otero Pedrayo. En otras palabras el golfo Ártabro coincide con el final de la costa de la Muerte y el principio de las Rías Altas, también corresponde con lo que los geógrafos grecorromanos Estrabón, Pomponio Mela y Plinio designaban como Portus Magnus Artabrorum.

El golfo Ártabro tiene una anchura máxima de 5.800 metros y se adentra unos 5.600 metros hacia la desembocadura del río Mero en Santa Cristina.

Se trata de una comarca natural conocida como Las Marinas Coruñesas, de un área geográfica delimitada nítidamente por la morfología del terreno.

Comprende los archipiélagos de Ferrol, Xubia, Bezoucos, Pruzos, Cerveiro, Xan Rozo, Abegondo y Faro.

Se caracteriza por su apertura al mar «a modo de un anfiteatro», cerrado por los montes de A Zapateira, O Xalo, Castromaior, Tieira, O Gato, Queixeiro, Capelada y Forgoselo, y abiertas a las rías. Estas rías son de aguas tranquilas y costa baja en el interior y grandes acantilados en sus cabos.

En el interior los valles de los ríos Mero, Mendo y Mandeo dividen el territorio. El valle del Mero es de mayor entidad, los otros dos más estrechos y los valles de los ríos Lambre, Villarino y el Eume.

La geología de la comarca se caracteriza por componerse de grandes franjas orientadas norte-sur alternando granitos y esquistos, localizándose pequeños yacimientos de estaño (Arteijo), wolframio (Culleredo) y oro (Covas y Carral) asociados a los granitos.

In the interior valleys of the rivers Mero, Mandeo Mendo and divide the territory. The valley is of greater importance Mero, the other two closer and river valleys Lambre, Villarino and Eume.

The geology of the region is characterized by large tracts consist oriented north-south alternating granites and schists, locate small deposits of tin (Arteijo), tungsten (Culleredo) and gold (Covas and Carral) associated with the granites.

Hi Charo

Wonderful effect of the sunrays bursting thru the clouds.
Great sharpness in the water as well.
This type of photo is hard to produce, you can see alot of sunsets and rises and not get this effect.

quel ciel de re^ve, c'est beua la mer (aussi la montagne), amis alors là c'est une merveille, cette forme nuageuxe avec les rayons filtrants, grnaiose.

A lovely atmospheric composition with a particular mood to it. The coastline makes an interesting silhouette, forming a pleasing angle with the horizon. The lighting in the sky is just gorgeous owing much to your fine handling of the exposure. Very attractive warm/cool tonal contrast. Very well done, thanks for sharing.

parece aquelas fotos de mensagens religiosas. A sensação quando a vemos é de pura paz e tranquilidade. O efeito dos raios atrás das nuvens ficou especial. Também gosto de ver a silhueta da praia contra um iluminado mar. Excelente!

Como me tocas, Charo!! Hasta por lo menos el mes de mayo no estaré por Galicia, mi tierra preferida...
Como me maltratas con estas capturas, no te puedes imaginar...me falta ahora una fuente de aquel marisco, una copa de albariño (pueden ser también dos) y ya me coloco en el estado de "nirvana"!!!

Hola amiga Charo,
¡qué maravilloso momento antes de la puesta de sol has captado aquí! Los rayos del sol que parecen salir desde dentro de la nube siempre tienen un grandioso efecto estético, y al mismo tiempo nos dan una gran sensación de paz.
Me gustan los dos tonos en el cielo, por encima y por debajo de las nubes, su contraste con el mar plateado y las bonitas siluetas negras del paisaje costero.
La realización técnica y el encuadre son muy buenos.

Hey Charo, long time no see. :)

Most of all I like the clarity of the photo. Colors come second. The contrast between the blue and the yellow is startling. It`s the most impressive because the line is drawn nicely by the clouds. The rays add that little special something to it. Also nice take on the framing, with the purple/bluish line. A lovely scene and good work.
