Photographer’s Note

This is my fifth photo post at TE from my trip to Europe last month.
Taken from a small restaurant with a beautiful view of Santorini with its typical houses and the impressive cliff that reaches down to the sea. The girl was seeing the menu to see what she was going to have for lunch. It's my second visit to that very beautiful island since the first visit in 1998. What could be different from 1998? many more tourists, now Santorini is very crowded, more shops and more large cruise ship visiting the island.

Hola amigo Emile,
me gustaría ser el primero en valorar esta bonita foto de tu último crucero.
Realmente éste es un lugar que quiero conocer algún día, y poder estar en una de estas terrazas como esta chica, disfrutando del inmenso paisaje y de la arquitectura tan blanca y atractiva, mientras miro la carta del restaurante.
Bella composición, has trabajado bien la luz y los colores.

Hi Emile!!!Santorini does not change remains magic but changes we In the same balcony has taken a dinner before five years. Remains my heart there! Caldera and city of Oia they is in my dream!!!

Hello Emile,
Well, I wish I had the same worries and were sitting in that chair ! The view over the town and the Aegean sea is spectacular. This terrace is a great place to enjoy the beauty of the island, get a suntan or watch the sunset. I like the perspective and the light you have captured on this image. The sharpness is outstanding. Thank you for this short moment of escape.

No había visto a Santorini desde este punto de vista. Es realmente maravilloso ver desde la parte superior, en los acantilados. Magnífica composición, excelente luz y preciosos colores, muy buena nitidez.

Hi Emile!!
a beautiful view of the island, well framed by the girl in the foreground.
You are right: such places are more crowded every year. Coming back in the same place make us discover something new, a very different atmosphera. And it is so also in not very famous places as Santorini.

Hi Emile, A really delightful shot of Santorini and the compostion is excellent. You have told a story with this picture of the attractiveness of this area of the world. We were here about 8 years ago, and I have always wanted to go back. I have not been on TREK for almost ten months, but I remember your shots taken in Central Park in NYC. Good to see your postings. Cada vez que veo una foto tan linda como esta, me pongo a pensar que hice mal de no visitar esta isla de sueño cuando estuve en Creta el Agosto, a tan solo 2 horas de ferry de ahí. Quizás en otra oportunidad... Me gusta mucho esta foto! Además de muy bien compuesta, aprovechando muy bien la situación privilegiada del lugar, la presencia de la mujer le da un toque de sensualidad y relax que nos hace aun mas sueñar como sera estar ahí.

Hello Emile,

This beautiful image brings to mind Werner Heisenberg's words, "Never underestimate how much pleasure it gives a man to see/hear what he already knows." In my opinion Santorini is geologically the most interesting and physically the most beautiful of the Aegean Islands. You have produced a classic that should be in the Crystal Cruise Catalogue. The colors and resolution, composition and perspective... are all superb.

Hola Emile, this is a superb composition of a great view. Love this girl contained by the blue fence, before I go and explore everything down the hill. I don't know the rest of the splanade but I would say she's got the best spot. I mean, can't imagine a better table to have lunch. Congratulations once again.

Bonsoir, mon ami Emile,
Je m'aperçois que je n'ai pas emprunté un fauteuil qui me tendait pourtant les bras pour admirer ce magnifique panorama !
Quel spectacle, je crains que j'aurais tendance à plus regarder le paysage que ce qu'il y aura dans mon assiette !

I lost count of the number of pictures of Santorini on TE, but I have to admit that they are always gorgeous to look at. Yours is noexception on this rule.

A wonderful sight, very well composed with this lady in foreground. The picture by this has an incredible depth. A photo "to dream into...", really.
