Photographer’s Note
Viewed from the deck of the Lady Jane Franklin whilst visiting Sarah Island, a once brutal penal colony and busy ship building industry - in 11 years, over 100 vessels were launched.

Hi Peter,
I fully agree the title! Conditions for capturing the rainbow are ideal on this. Foreground air is clear and background is dark with very few features. And exposure is just right for optimal colours. I guess there isn't a camera or display device that would show the rainbow exactly the way eyes see it. But that is awesome.

Hi Peter, Great shot. Intensity of the colours against the almost mono BG works well. Horizon well placed and good to see just a few fragments of land through the cloud. cheers, Steve

Bonjour Peter,
on aimera ou on aimera pas cet arc-en-ciel poussé à l'extrème de ses couleurs, pour ma part, je trouve ce graphisme séduisant d'autatn qu'il est bien cadré et serti dans un format vertical qui lui va bien.
Mes compliments.
Daniel.

Amazing colors and they stand out so well against the bland bg and fg. Excellent shot.

Hi Peter
I wouldn't have minded such a light when I was on that island but too bad for me. Great for you though. Love the saturated colours and how the rainbow hits the dark line. Dramatic metallic colour of the sea too.

Hello Peter,
I thought rainbows only occurs in Victoria:), now you have added Tasmania to the list. But surely not in NSW.
I love this strong contrasting colours of the rainbow, plunging straight into the ocean. Excellent catch.

Hi Peter - or should I call you Paul Hogan? ;) Yes, that sure is a rainbow, I wish you'd been around to teach me how to shoot one when I was at Rye. The colours are strong and dynamic. They contrast beautifully with that moody sky and I like the tight cropping. Great job, TFS, Lisa.

Now Peter this is a rainbow, with nothing else in the frame as a distraction. This must have looked at the time something out of wonderland. The colours are so rich & intense, especial near the water, towards the top they fade away, I wonder if you took this several minutes later whether it would have been too late. Impressive image, well captured & realised.
Take care

Hello Peter,
A simple but very efficient composition using well the curve of the rainbow. I like the fact it slowly disappears in the clouds.
The colors of the rainbow seems to me a bit too saturated, but as I was not there only you can know if it is close to reality.
Yves.
