Mostly cloudy with isolated showers.
Outlook until midnight Monday:
Southeast 15 knots but 25 knots over the Outer Gulf. A few showers.
Swell forecast to midday Monday:
East Coast: Northeast about 3 metres.
West Coast: Southwest about 1 metre.

Northland’s east coast is deeply indented with a thousand inlets, bays and sandy coves. When easterly winds assail the coast, long rhythmic swells roll in from the Pacific Ocean. This is New Zealand’s subtropical paradise extending from Auckland to North Cape and boasting over 60 surf beaches.

Here at Murrays Bay, on the Hauraki Gulf, we are in the midst of this easterly wind pattern and our normally calm beach is now being churned up with wind and waves. The weather is quite warm, so these easterly winds are quite welcome and the swimmers are enjoying getting out on their boogie boards and surfing the rollers.

Great one with a perfect quality. I like very much this perspective of waves. Agitated waster here is superb, the composition very well built and the note exactly what we can ear here in Northern Brittany; Gale warning ... "Avis de tempête en cours sur Hudshire, Dogger, Iroise ... vent force 6 à 7 N.N.E. soufflant en rafales..."
I like it
Jean Michel

Nice diagonal giving strongness to the composition.
Good amount of detail.

Hi Janice,
it seems that I have some catching up to do from here in India. This lovely capture with deep colors and good composition with the land on the right retained my attention as first. Thanks for the weather-cast.
