Townhall Cleaning Lady Photo

Photographer’s Note

This cleaning lady was at work in the town hall of Leuven. It was very quiet in this big hall, and there was almost nobody... except this lady. The wall is in orange, and the lady is wearing a blue dress.
I made it in B&W because it gives a special effect between the wall and the floor.
There's also a kind of interaction between the statue and the lady. I had the impression the lady and the standing person of the statue were taking care of the victim.

Nice composition this way. A bit noise in the picture, but well chosen and good atmosphere.

Brilliant capture... it has the look of a shot which has been elaborately staged... the light coming down on the statue and the cleaner is wonderful.

Hi David,
Interesting picture, I agree with you about the floor and the wall. I think you could reduce the noise and increase conrast a little to emphasize the graphical qualities of this picture even more. The composition is well balanced with good proportions between the different elements.

Very nice, so weird and stagey looking. I have the same feeling, maybe it would be good if you got closer, but I still like it as is.

Pity the quality is a bit weak: not too sharp and very grey: I'd like crisper contrasts.
