Hi Andre, I really like this picture, but it looks like there is something missing. I like the feeling of lonelyness it provides. Those people looking backwards are fantastic.

I guess with a more cloudy sky it would be nicer. Also the shadows on the right are a little distracting but you probably can't do anything about that. A frame would probably enhance the picture a little bit. I tried a workshop and I think adding contrast and sharpness looks good. I also tried the sky to see how it looked and I don't really like it because you can kind of tell it doesn't belong there, but just to play a little... I hope you don't mind. It's a great picture. Very simple yet effective photo. The cloudless sky adds to that simplicity. The colours are warm and the exposure between the bright and shadowed areas is good. I like how your main subject is kept to the far left, yet your eye is constantly drawn to the passenger looking back. Well done...

Bonjour André,
On voit toujours des images de ces tramways à cable avec une vue générale de la rue et des immeubles autour. Ici, ton POV et ta compo sont d'une grande originalité car on a l'impression que ce tram surgit du néant. En plus tu as bénéficié d'une belle lumière qui crée une ambiance chaleureuse.

Very cool framing for this one, Andre. I like the simple graphism of the cable car tracks diagonally leading through the photo, and the placement of the car in the scene is well chosen, too. Not least a pleasant effect and warm tonality created by the morning sun. Nice photo.

I love this shot!! Superbly composed shot with subject shifted on a side and openess of the steep street on the other. Fantastic warm light. I very much like the shiny vertical lines contrasting with the yellow and white matt ones. The green guy on the left window adds not only a pintch of colour, but also a question: where is this cable going??? Very, very, very, well done. Cheers, --amz

Très belle photo! Couleurs franches et netteté parfaite. La présence de ce tram sans aucun élément de la ville autour constitue une composition tout a fait réussie. Comme s'il manquait une partie du décor... Bravo!

Bonjour André,
Je ne connais les USA que par les films et, dans mon imaginaire, San Francisco, c'est ça : les lignes de tramway, les tramways typiques et toutes ces pentes que Steeve Mac Queen dévale à bord de sa Ford Mustang dans "Bullit". La photo est donc très symbolique de cette ville, mais surtout très réussie dans sa composition. Le vide de la moitié droite de l'image n'est pas un problème. Elle fait même tout le charme de la photo. Ce bitume éclairé par un soleil couchant et traversé de lignes de couleur est agréable à regarder.

There are so many pictures of cable cars, but the POV on this one is rather unique. I love the way the car is off-center as well. Very nice. Is San Francisco nice? I've been thinking of visiting.

ahhhh André,
superbement simple!! Les lignes font vraiment du bon travail partout dans ta composition. Je me demande si je n'aurais pas cherché un angle de façon à avoir des diagonales plus fortes. TU vois ce que je veux dire? Les lignes de gauches sont bien des diagonales mais plus on s'approche de la droite et plus elles snt verticales. Tu as une superbe lumière. Selon ce que tu m'as déjà dit, ça doit être très tôt le matin où au coucher de soleil. J'opterais pour la 2e option:les touristes ne sont que rarement lève-tôt et c'est trop chaud pour être matinal.
J'aime bien le WS qu'on a fait pour toi mais je crois que ta version frappe par sa simplicité et est par conséquent supérieure au WS(à mon avis).
J'en profite pour te souhaiter une belle année, de la santé surtout!
