Photographer’s Note
Looking past a farmhouse along Fox Glacier, late in the afternoon on a beautiful summer's day. We had climbed the glacier earlier in the afternoon - an unforgettable experience for anyone visiting the area.

Nice image, especially for composition, colours and perspective.
I like the green roof of the house, and the intense blue of the sky.

Nice colours in the evening sun... could you have found a viewpoint that put the farmhouse a bit more to the side though and left the glacier in the centre as the main subject?

Hi Simon,
A good POV of the Fox Glacier and of the farmhouse in the foreground. The photo is sharp and clear. It has a good perpspective and nice colors. TFS.

Hi Simon,
Lovely light here indeed on a more than splendid looking day. I am interested in finding out why you used Digital ISO 400? That seems a lot considering the circumstances. It is an amazing place, no matter through which lense or filter you look!
Cheers Arnoud

Hello Simon,
Sharp colors and nice composition. Maybe more space on both sides to make a more panoramic view. It's more a matter of personal taste.

A breathtaking shot, Simon.
Beautifully done, with good colours and exposure, although I'd like to see a little more detail in that white wall.
You must have enjoyed the trip to NZ. It's on our list to do. (We know the transit area inside Auckland airport very well, but that's hardly enough!)
Thank you for your reply to my photo "Climbing Uluru/Ayers Rock".
Regards,
Andrew.

Hi Simon,
This is the first time I've seen your album and I must compliment you on the standard and variety of your pics. This one is no exception.
The idea of including a building in a scenery shot isn't used by many photographers but, from the results I see here, it seems to be very successful. It gives an alternative visual focal point, creates additional depth, and adds a degree of context to the scenery.
The colours you've captured are pleasantly natural and I particularly like the clear, blue sky. The composition is well controlled, the contrasts are strong without being overly dramatic, and your image quality is outstanding.
This is excellent work in every respect.
Best wishes,
Tony

Nice image, sharp with good colour. But perhaps another vantage point to seperate the glacier from the woolshed (farmhouse) might have given a more balanced composition. Beautiful place and well spotted tho.
TFS Cheers Paul.

Hi Simon - beautiful afternoon light and you did well to retain a bit of detail in the wall of the barn. I like the inclusion of the fences which are quite graphic. Nice natural colours and the little clouds are a nice addition. But the star of the show is the line of mountains and the glacier against the gorgeous sky.

Hello Simon,
Nice to see a landscape with the Fox Glacier.
Most other posts only show ice and rocks which could be anywhere in the world as well.
Typical west coast scenery as far as I know it. Very well seen and done. TFS Thomas

Hello Simon! I sure enjoy this scene. The white of the building gets my attention first, then my eyes have fun exploring the amazing scene behind. Well done!

Third time I've had a look at this one, Simon. It's grown on me. The colour is beautiful, the depth of field great, and the sense of spaciousness and remoteness is there despite, perhaps because of, the human habitation in evidence. It has me wondering if the farm is still operating, seeing there's no sign of human or animal life in the photo. But the fences look in good condition and the place is as neat as a pin. Terrific shot.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Simon, I like how you got this shot with the farm shed in front of the glacier. It shows the mountain and snow up so well, certainly not often seen at this angle. Well done,
Janice

Hi Simon, You have well made use of the low angled sunlight to the open view of the farm land. The black and white mountain has well contrasted by the blue sky and the golden colored foreground land the old farm house. A nice and sharp image. Well done.
