On our holiday in Canada in May of this year we spend this day in Wells Gray Provincial Park. There we visited several falls. Helmcken Falls was the first one we came across during our hike and the view of this fall was a spectaculair one!
Underneath the waterfall was a big chunk of ice, still left over from the winter and the sound of the water falling into the deep was amazing to hear.

Here's some info I found on the internet:

Helmcken Falls is widely thought of as possibly the most powerful waterfall in west of the Rocky Mountains (if it's not, it's in the top 5). The Murtle River regularly spews anywhere between 5000 and 25000 cubic feet of water over the falls per second. The river, which stretches to over 300 feet wide at Dawson Falls several miles upstream, is condensed through a notch in the canyon between 50 and 75 feet wide, and is shot 141 meters into a massive bowl-amphitheater. In the winter, a giant ice cone, at times over 200 feet high, builds at the base of the falls.

Hi Nel,
it is a interestig landscape.
To which side flows off the water? It looks that right from Waterfalt is an opening.
Well done.

It does look powerful the way you caught it. Well done!

MeAT :)

Hi Nel
You've framed this view very well thanks to your POV. Those falls certainly seem to be coming down with such force - you've captured it well. Nice work,
Best wishes
Mark

Hello Nel,
This is very funny because YOU make ME discover Canada, lol. This is a great capture of this impressive place. I would not go to swim there. This fall seems so powerful. I like this POV and details you caught. Well done,
Claudine

Hi Nel,
Very nice POV that give a narrow view to concentrate on the roaring volume of water crashing below and leaving a lovely mist clinging to the canyon walls.
Regards, Tom

Groetjes.
