Photographer’s Note
This house may lack the glamour of the one in front of it, which houses the Amber Museum that I showed in my last post, but I find some charm in it. Although it looks like a family house, I think that it is used by some sort of government or public institution related with youth, because the sign on the door reads "Integración Juvenil" (literally "Juvenile Integration").
It was shot from a balcony from the upper floor of the museum of my last post.
I posted two complementary views as WS's. The #1 shows the view to the right of this photo and the #2 was shot from the street, on the left of the corner.

Typical of most houses in the tropics too. The view is nice. The house is very prominent and add a nice subject to the image. Colours and details are well rendered and and the girl walking below give us an idea of size. Nice work Jose.

Having just had dinner with a couple form the Dominican Republic, I became interested in seeing this image immediately. You have been presenting us with a good slice of everyday life from the island, along with informative notes. Bright colors, high resolution (with the size constraints allowed), and here a very good perspective.
Warm regards and enjoy a rejuvenating Sunday,

Amicalement.
Marie Louise.

Despite the patched roof the house looks as if it had a certain amount of style in its past. The balcony and floor tiles have some attraction. The POV from above works well and the inclusion of the passer-by adds more interest. She's probably checking to see if her friends are there yet.:) The building next door looks intriguing.
I must make a mental note to check in tomorrow for the WSs

Hi Jose.
Good shot, and fine presentation.
The old house is so colourfull...and the addition of the human is significant here..

Hello Jose.
I love this old house, full of character, and its setting. You have composed and/or cropped this magnificently, and had the luck or patience to find a woman in red walking past who echoes the woman in the poster and the rusty colour of the roof. The pedestrian crossing seems to continue the line of steps and balcony. Just a wonderful daily life shot taken from a great position.
Regards,
Andrew

Felicitaciones.
Un fuerte abrazo.

I've never been there, but that's how I imagine the area... Colorful, sunny, peaceful... Typical, as you say...

Olá José,
let me prefer the workshop from the low POV please. This original is pretty much better showing the conditions but the other one is more impressive in my eyes, giving this house some atmosphere. Good sharpness and colours at all of them.

Hello José
after looking at the WS, I definitively prefer this one, for the point of view, mix of colours and alos because I prefer the framing here. the advertising on right is like an echo to the girl walking.
Best regards

Ola Jose,
A good high POV on that typical colonial style house with corrugated iron roofing(cheap to replace, but very noisy in rainy seasons!) Good light, colors and sharpness, not so busy street it looks like!

Jose, this certainly house has much character and you chose a fine POV to capture it for us. The background is perhaps a little busy but there's not much you could do about it. It doesn't really matter anyway, because the POV directs our attention to the front of the house and the girl sneaking a glance inward. The wide assortment of warm colors make this very attractive as well.
Well done!

Hola Jose
Missed this one. I like the casual tropical ambience & the superb vibrant colours. Good correlation between the woman in the billboard & lady in the red shirt & blue jeans strolling by. Tfs!

Good pov to show this typical local house against the concrete houses at background, detail wooden structure and zinc roof, thanks for sharing in difference pov.

I landed in that place on my way to Haiti last January, saw some nice old charming buildings such as this in the little city but could not get good results - yours here is great, with this POV from above and I like the general atmosphere.
Both WS are also very interesting and good photos... I'm happy to see them here,
TFS,
Best regards,

Hello Jose
Love the colouring in this shot and the angle of view. I am intrigued by the shop which is in your WS image 1, brilliantly named Uptown Clothes, is this really uptown Puerto Plata
