A powerful and inspiring landscape, the Grand Canyon overwhelms our senses through its immense size. Unique combinations of geologic color and erosional forms decorate a canyon that is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and a mile (1.6km) deep.

I like this tight crop of the Canyon, the balance of exposure is great considering the difference of light in the photo.

Hi Derek,
This is nice but as I look more closely, IMO there is too much dark foreground for the featured golden band of late day sun - maybe a slight crop would be even better? Very nicely saturated colors and amazing detail and clarity on the lighted areas. Fine work and TFS. Gerald

Derek,
you really got the essence of the Southwestern during your latest trip. The light and colors are amazingly beautiful. It seems that you got the overwhelming of this place aside an concentrated on taking outstanding pictures.
