Hello Stelios,
is this a HDR?! well, let me say it's just beautiful and you handled it truly well. Everything seems to be on the right spot, with great exposure and amazing colours. The moon blessed you kissing the sky and making it so dark blue and the contrast with the bright green of the tree in the fg and part of the cave makes the picture beautiful to look at. Excellent job!

hello Stelio,
impressive work, an example how the heavy postproduction can be used to achieve realistic, but powerful result, I like it a lot. the natural frame from the castle works very well to focus the attention on the beautifully illuminated scenery below, it feels as if we are looking through a telescope :) love the textures in the foreground, excellent shot.

Hi Stelios,

From a technical pov i have only one remark, the f5.0. No way we can see this here at TE size, but at full 100% you will miss ultimate sharpness in the far background. Also it seems if there is a slight barrel distortion on the horizon, but i am not the full 100% sure about that because there are also some jpg artifacts in there which disturb a bit that feeling i have....not really important to mention because at the original size they will not be there.

Your pushing with the RAW was very succesful, you know what you are doing and that shows. Clarity, brightness and superb details. I am really impressed that this was taken at 1am, light is beautiful in the sky, you did really well here. Your control over the light inside the cave but also on the town can't be better. I do not see mistakes there, but maybe you do 100% size.
Anyway, a very good presentation, not a quick snapshot but a well thought composed photo with very good work in the digital darkroom.

To see the harbour so clearly, the blue colour of the sea separated subtly from the sky, and the green of tree to the left so brilliant is a pleasure for us and a reward for your work.

Σίγουρα το απολαμβάνεις το άθλημα, κι εμείς μαζί σου. Αναπόφευκτα γίνονται συγκρίσεις με την παλιά φωτό. Για εμένα αυτή εδώ είναι πολύ πιο δυνατή. Μπορεί τα soft tones της παλιάς να δημιουργούν μια πιο ρομαντική ατμόσφαιρα αλλά και το μπλε αυτού του ουρανού σε αντίθεση με τις πλάγια φωτισμένες πέτρες που λες και τον 'σχίσουν', δεν πάει πίσω. Ευχαριστούμε λοιπόν για την οπτική απόλαυση που μας προσφέρεις.

So, after editing RAW you save them as TIFFs and then to jpgs? I've read somewhere recently about it but I never tried myself...bcz judging by the quality of this image, it's worth trying!
Great light management, Stelios, but that's nothing new with you. And this blue colour you achieved is really wonderful...

This is a fantastic image, making very good use of the artificial lighting. It is also unusual to see a scene lit from below. The view, through the window in the castle walls, is all the better for being an interesting shape. Beautiful glowing colours.

Πανεμορφη νυχτερινη σκηνη αυτης της γλυκιας πολης. Το "παραθυρο" σου ειναι συγκλονιστικο..τοσο ζωντανα χρωματα και ειδικα το φως στις πετρες το απογειωνει..
Σου αφηνει την αισθηση οτι ηρθε το καλοκαιρι και ειναι καιρος να απολαυσουμε τις ελληνικες βραδιες μας διπλα στη θαλασσα :)

Η συγκεκριμένη φωτογραφία δεν θα έλεγε τίποτα αν δεν είχε το φυσικό κάδρο του τείχους! Κατά την γνώμη μου φυσικά. Θα ήταν απλώς μια νυχτερινή λήψη.
Ο εξωτερικός φωτισμός δημιουργεί ένα υπέροχο εφέ με τις σκιάσεις στις πέτρες και την αντίθεση με το βαθύ μπλε του ουρανού και της θάλασσας. Σίγουρα οι τεχνικές επεμβάσεις σου βελτίωσαν την καταγεγραμμένη εικόνα.

It's so difficult to capture such scenes, especially getting the light right. However you have succeeded as the foreground is so clear and sharp and many details can be made out in the background. The trees had colour and balance and the little lights in the background add depth. Well done.
