While traveling through to the prairies I was able to stop at Lake Louise for a break and some photos. When I was here in May last year, the lake was still partly frozen. This time the air was warm and it felt like summer. The resort at this lake is always busy with a plethora of tourists taking photos with their little digital cameras facing the sunlight, and gathering all manner of glare spots on their photos because of the angle of the sunlight at 5 pm in the late afternoon. This was why I decided to angle my viewpoint looking back at the Fairmont Hotel. I trust you like this capture including these canoes in the foreground. Enjoy because summer is here and its warm outside again.

Hi Paul,
great POV to show us the relaxing atmosphere at Lake Louise, and the tourist are doing there part to this. Very inviting canoes presented in the foreground. And the light is excellent!
Congratulation!
Best regards
Harriet

Trademark sharp colourful scene. icely found PoV to catch the people as interesting compo detail.

Hi Paul, Beautifully photographed & the low POV works very well, a gorgeous sky & fabulous light, the two people in on the right of frame are superbly positioned, however the line of canoes creates a strong composition, the colours & razor sharp focus finish a high quality shot, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Paul,

Good composition from the lake.
Rich tones, lights.
Excellent concept.

Hi Paul,
A pretty fine image here although the polarizer impact might have been broader - seems sort of centered with lightening towards the sides of the sky. I like the perspective and the deep rich colors. Well done and TFs. Gerald

Hi Paul,
Ohhh! Just AWESOME! What an excellent view this is! Absolutely gorgeous colors. Composition is excellent too.
Thanks for sharing,
Shaeri

Hi Paul. A nicely composed summer shot that recognises how to take advantage of the light. I saw your reply to Gerald. I too think the polariser is slightly overdone. I was guilty of doing that a lot myself until I started to force myself to back it off a bit. Using it to the maximum effect, it always looked great in the viewfinder, but when I downloaded it to the computer I realised I had overdone it. These days when using a polarising filter I usually turn it so that it is about halfway between maximum and minimum effectiveness. That usually is about right - unless I want to really darken the sky for a special effect. Cheers . . . David

Hello Paul,
What a beautful day and what a charming view. Thanks to your very creative framing we are able to see the boats in diagonal, Lake Louise Palace and breathe the crystal clear air of BC. The clouds seems to complement the boats. Or one can say that the boats point at the poeple sitting on the bench.

Good to hear from you - Izzet

Hello Paul,

I bet Lake Louise is the most photographed lake in Canada, and no wonder why!
This is a well balanced composition, where the strong foreground interest creates a fine sense of depth to the hotel in the back...
Amazing colour palette, sharp fine details!

Greetings,
Pablo -

hello, Paul!
You have had a nice weather and lighting conditions! Nice, saturated colors and a play of light and shadows on the boats. Good idea to put some boats in the foreground. The perspective is much deeper now!
regards,
Greg

Hey Paul;

Needless to say- you've been a busy person here on TE since I last stopped by! I owe you more then a few critiques indeed...
Sorry for not being in touch while I was back home in Canada. As I mentioned, it was quite a busy trip with not enough time to catch up with everyone.

I've done a slight correction to the horizon which I detailed a bit more in the workshop.

All the best Paul!
- Dan
