| Victoria Day weekend (second half of May) is usually an occasion for the first invitational barbecue in Toronto households. The weather is warm enough, the gardens have begun to grow things, fireworks are anitcipated, so what better opportunity to take the apparatus out of winter storage and show off one's culinary talents. I like this shot because of the smoke, the chiaroscuro effect afforded by the roof catching the sun’s last rays vs. the back yard having already lost them all, and because of the memory of that meal, to which I was invited. |
