Hello Paul,
What a surprise with the man and his calender, maybe is this man a hermit!
Very well composition and nice colours, the broken glass in the windows are here a surprise, certainly for the man those there must live, good presentation too.
Very well done, TFS.
Friendly greetings,
John.

Great story, Paul! Was he having a lend of you, perhaps!! Personally, I think you'd both been sharing the same hooch or smoking the same stuff!!! The house actually looks like it would scrub up OK - are they for sale?
Best wishes,
Jeff
Hey Paul, this is a great work, superb light contrast and composition, it remind to me the wonderful photos of David Alan Harvey (do you know?)
The title is a fantastic idea too, all my compliments!!!
have a nice day,
Fabio.
One of the things that often surprises me about the US and Canada is how so many old things surive in everyday use, and not as museum pieces, much more so than most of the other places I go. I remember only 5 years ago coming across a gas station in Maine with mechanical pump dials, something I hadn't since in Europe since being in the Ukraine in 1997.
Anyway, yes sure, this looks like it hasn't changed for years, probably as run down looking forty years ago as now, and well done catching the guy on his threshold.
Hello Paul,
impressing composition and a great story! Excellent POV.
I am very curious about the end of your story!
Best regards
Harriet

Hi Paul,
Thats a great photo, and the story adds a fine touch. I am envious of you being out there trudging the Saskatchewan countryside. Enjoy and TFS. Gerald

Perhaps he has been asleep for 40 years :))
I like the use of the wide angle here as it exaggerates the angles of the house. Certainly catching the fellow on the porch really adds a different dimension to this shot.

Bonsoir,

Hi Paul!
Very nice registry. The textures of the old house are nice and you got very good details.

What a tall Sakatchewan story, Paul! Made it sound like the deep Ozarks, lol. Guess there are characters around (find them here in Alberta too)...
Great photo of this dilapidated shack. If this guy wants to survive the winter, he'd better fix the windows...
Cheers
Otto
Hi Paul.
Great title and brilliant shot. Your story is remarkable - it and the photo are like the first scene of a Coen brothers movie (you know, Fargo and No Country For Old Men etc. In fact that last title would be OK for this shot, too). I love the very subdued light and colour. You have captured the old timber and broken glass superbly with the very wide angle lens, not to mention the puzzled look on the fellow's face. Just a first class photo; I wish I'd seen it earlier.
Regards,
Andrew
