It is now winter in the Southern Hemisphere but in Melbourne the signs are that winter may soon be over.
I don't know if this is a normal occurrence for this time of year and I have not noticed it before but I do know that since I purchased a Digital SLR I am looking at things around me differently and taking more notice.

Hello Santo,
Spring is coming!!!!!! what is up over there in Melbourne? its bloody cold and wet over this side of the Tasman :-).
Nice close up showing detail and spring (do you know how much it pains me to say this word right now) like colours. Especially like the rain droplets hanging of the plant, I wonder what this would have been like if you zoomed in more further so we could see the reflections in the droplet. Very good.
Regards
Jim

Ciao Santo,a very great idea and a wonderfull realisation, the transaprence in a drops are fanatstic,my best compliments,Luciano

Hey Santo,

A beautiful macro shot, saturated with beautiful contrasts and colors, - especially the pink/violet. Focused perfectly, with neat sharpness and perfect clarity. Bravo.

Best regards and be seeing ya.

Hi Santo,
A very beautiful and interesting picture. Fantastic capture of these drops in the bud of flower.Special moment. Congratulations.
Regards
maria

Hi Santo,
It's definately not Spring here in Sydney, the only thing to warm me up is the thought that eventually Summer will arrive. Superb close-up, wonderful detail. I too would have liked to see a macro shot of the droplet just to catch a glimpse of what was in the reflection. Beautiful shot.
cheers
Peter

hello Santo

I believe this is your 2nd macro on a plant and what a success it is with such great choice of angle and light control. Somehow the red or pink budding color does not indicate winter, and if it is a sign of early spring then it must be quite unusual.

The twig is nicely captured with droplets, sharp details and subtle yet rich color. Well done with bokeh. Imagine you carrying a tripod for macor shot!

tfs, bill

Hi Santo,
Lucky you, here other side of the planet it will be autumn soon...
But something about the photo, I like those water drops and the sharp details of that flower. That blurry background is also nice.

Regards,
Eino

Ciao Santo, ben trovato!
Questo scatto è davvero bello come colori e come significato: la primavera che avanza con i colori delle gemme dei fiori.
Elegantissima la composizione della macro, all'altezza delle tue foto migliori.
Un caro saluto
Mario

Not in SE Queensland today!!! It has been raining all day and the temperature is only 15ºC. A miserable weather!!!
It is a nice clear picture where the water drops are the main focal point. Well done.

Hi Santo, Spring!? No way, it is freezing! These trees are deluded! Great shot though, very sharp (but not too sharp), life like strong colours and an interesting subject. The water is a great addition. cheers, Steve

Hi Santo,
excellent close up
wonderful sharpness and details
my compliments

Hi Santo. I don’t think winter has finished with us in NZ yet, another cold front is making it’s way up the country with snow in the central plateau again. But we have plenty of lambs though! Great photo. Good colour and focus and soft BG. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Santo,
I hope the changes in weather pattern has not gone to the extend of confusing the cycle of nature. This bud looks like trying to blossom prematurely while Melbourne is still pretty much in Winter.

I am amazed by the sharpness and the level of details shown in this macro shot, presumably captured with your 18-200mm lens. I tried gazing closely into that water droplet looking for the reflection of the nice "old bloke", and i think he is somewhere in there!

Great macro shot with great framing.

Take care
Alfred

Hello Santo,
I see life is coming out from the plant, how wonderful spring is coming early this year in Melbourne!
this is a fine and beautiful macro with those perfect details especially the waterdrop with it's sharpness!
very cheerful image that shared
many thanks
Tony

I love the sharpness and the colours, the water drops add even more interest - well done TFS

Hi Santo,
This is exactly why so many people around the world, including myself, could never live anywhere without seasons! The beauty of spring is a sight to behold, and you've given us a great photo of a tiny detail within the bigger picture. The focusing and clarity are spot on and it's well composed with some nice blurred lines in the background. Looking at the light within the frame, it may have been possible to zoom in more against a dark spot for a background, spot meter it, and have only the detail of the buds against solid black. Not better I know, but an alternative perspective?
Great shot, thanks for showing
Lee

Hello Santo,

You show here a wonderful spring picture with this blossom.
I like the water drops this are exactly pearls of juwels, colours are nice and very pleasant for look it.
Very well done, TFS.

Best regards,
John.

I am waiting for the spring here, Santo. Its a very nice capture, with good sharp details and beautiful colours!
Cheers!

I think you're right. Once you're hooked on photography you go around appreciating all kinds of things you didn't notice before, even when you don't have the camera on board. Ever found yourself drooling over clouds?
This is a fine macro shot of the bud. I think macros with SLR cameras (easy with a compact)are the hardest things to do and you have done an excellent job here. The DOF is just about right so there is enough blur in the background. The thought of you heading toward spring fills me with dread of the winter coming up at the top of the globe.

Hello santo. This beautiful photo has artistic quality. It is a small and worth seeing still life of nature. Wonderful colors and light. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Ciao Santo,
amazing macro with an excellent definition of the details. We can also be admired the reflexes on the drops of water. In this image everything is perfect, sharp, color and light. Really a masterpiece of photo. Compliments!
Ciao e buona domenica!
Paolo.

Ciao Santo. Close and intimate this one, showing nature's gentle awakening as the buds swell and open. Superb clarity and colour combinations. Love the contrast between light and dark. Ciao. Klaudio.
