Photographer’s Note
The village of Nar is located close to Goreme. I took this on an overcast morning, looking out from the guest house I was staying at.
It was shot on grainy old print film and took three scans with different analogue gain levels added in layers and masked to get some colour into the sky whilst retaining the FG colour.

Hi Stephen,
You've done extremely well in scanning the old photo print, and although it's still a little grainy, it seems to fit with the subject. The old colourful houses greate a collage effect. This is something different coming out of Turkey....normally we see the huge mosque in Istanbul. Well done.
Cheers Grant

Hi Stephen,
I agree with Grant - the grainy effect works well with the image. Great POV and composition.

Hello Stephen,
Photo superb in the composition and colors, it lacked a little sharpness to my liking but it may be wanted in your hand ...

Hello Steve,
You obviously did a good job with the scanning. It resulted in rich, warm colours and a kind of haziness that reminds me of old postcards. The colourful houses with some poplars here and there look great at a distance.

Gert

The colors of the houses of this village are amazing.
And they are not fake colors, as many of the restored houses of the "new trend" in many villages in Europe.
There is a nice atmosphere of old time and traditions in this picture.

Hi Stephen
I would indeed see a painter settling down on your place and adding colors on all these facades, by small touches. But it is already very so. I also like these trees taken out of some mineral such of the minarets. Very friendly
