Photographer’s Note

My thrid photograph of the shrimp fishing in this pictoresque village Oostduinkere 8 mile of the Frensh borders

Shrimp fishing on horseback keep low: a half hour before the exact time of low tide and a half hours later. There are a total of about three hours each fishing. A draft, as he says, takes about half hour. The prawn fishing is so five or six times out of the water to the empty net and catch on to pour in a wicker basket or "am". Meanwhile, the horse awarded some rest. After the fish steps rider and horse back home, where the shrimp are cooked and washed immediately. Each shrimp fisherman has his own secrets to the most delicious shrimp to serve. That same day they shine "live fresh" in the palms of many connoisseurs!
The best time to fish shrimp horse practicing is the spring and autumn: from late April to late June one, and the months of September and October. Then the temperature of water at the beach and feel the best shrimp in their sas. With any luck watch the shrimp fishermen who spent months in a rich catch.
Oostduinkerke still counts seven active shrimp fishermen on horseback. The town cherishes them all as precious pearls. Young men who love the sea and the horse ensure the continuation of this extraordinary tradition. No wonder, paardenvissers that, after a long and rich career filled, as honorary citizen of the town be considered.

Hello John,
Another fine daily life capture of these fishermen at work. There is a good sense of animation with the horse in the foreground moving forwards and the man about to mount the other. Very good colours and clarity with the horses' coats being particularly well rendered.

Bonjour John, hé oui comme tu l’as écrit sur mon derniers poste, je sais reconnaître les qualité photographiques de tes paysages, je reste fidèle et apprécie ton travaille sur la nature aux sujet bien argumenté et bien pensé, comme pour cette vue d’un autre temps, qu’il serai regrettable de perdre, l'attitude du cheval est superbement saisie l’on ressent bien, sinon la fougue du moins la puissance de ces montures dans ta photo, j’apprécie d’autant plus cette scène que les chevaux marchent sur une matière agréable, il sont constamment rafraîchit par la mer, et il font, contrairement au débardage ou à la course, un travaille de traction lente et sans heur, je ne suis pas spécialiste en milieux hippiques mais il me semble que l’élément dans lequel ces chevaux évolue est excellent pour eux, je trouve ton point de vue extra ce qui permet d’évaluer leur masse, quelle puissance, leur propriétaire semble marcher sur des œuf et il va tout doux, quoi qu’il en soit tu états idéalement placer et l’image est fort belle, j’aime aussi cette image quelque peu atypique à l’heure du tout automatique, mécanique informatique, bien amicalement

Hallo, John. Mooie compositie met de twee paarden die en diagonale lijn vormen. Dit geeft een zeer goed diepte aan het beeld. De twee paarden en hun ruiters komen zeer goed uit op het zand en de blauwe lucht. Ik denk dat er een soort halo is rond de twee paarden is (komt het van het feit dat u met licht/donker hebt moeten werken?).

Hi John,
I like how you composed the image, the brown horse in the foreground as the focal point and the white one in the background. Colors are nice and the image is pin sharp, I just notice some noise in the sky, but I don`t find it that disturbing. Well done shot, many thanks for sharing!
