Photographer’s Note

Hello to my TE friends,
Captured this yesterday at the Kohimarama beach in the Auckland seafront that looking across the Waitemata harbour! beautiful morning weather and people ready to enjoy a bit of water sport and sailing!
Kohomarama beach is in between the Mission bay and St.Helier bay along the long coastal road of Tamaki Drive!
Hope you can enjoy it and thanks for your time!

The bow of the catamaran points to the three persons who are looking toward open sea, inviting us to follow this direction and maybe to make a small sailing in this wonderful bay. A good place to spend a Sunday and a nice composition to be enjoyed.

Perfect title for what sure looks like a very nice day out! Skilfully framed and presented : the placing of the catamaran is excellent, with its bow pointing towards those three people and at the same time leading the eye deep into the picture and towards the horizon. Oh, just another day in paradise. (Yawn.) A nice picture with simple elements perfectly arranged - the tree, the boat, the people and the shadows. Since I must find a nit to pick, it will have to be the dog on the right edge - he is too close to the edge. So there!

It looks warm and sunny, as you are coming up to summer now. How I envy you!!
The katamaran is perfectly placed for interest and sets the atmosphere of relaxed enjoyment. The people accentuate the feeling and add life to the shot.
Very well composed and the colours are well-saturated to give those fresh blues, so reminiscent of N.Z.

Hi Tony,
Maybe it lacks the immediate impact of most of your posts, but while "just the boat" and the expanse of the beach would give a nice photo, the compo reveals itself amazingly well done, with everything "where it should be": boat pointing to the 3 persons and the dog, car on the BG, dark shadow on the lower corner, tree, etc.

Hello Tony,

I have been to Mission Bay some years ago, but do not remember Kohimarama beach.

You have capitalized on the good light in this shot. I like the FG features with the slanting mast and contrasting white of the yacht. The vehicle on the boat ramp, the people and dog in the BG also contribute a great deal to this superb photo. As a minor point, I would prefer to move the framing a little to the right to avoid the dog being cropped out.

cheerful photo, and, having to stay in cold, drizzling Moscow, I can only envy those who can walk along the beach, enjoy the warmth of the day, the sunshine, sail, suntan, breathe fresh sea air... Hey Tony,

I hate to do this dude, the dark branches dangling with the catamaran's mast just shoots up through it is too much for me and the shadows on the lower side doesn't give much to the picture IMO :/

Not so stunning shot compared to the rest of your work but I like the intent showing what Kohomarama beach looks like. Somehow the perfect horizon across it makes the picture work, a nice day indeed! The hell with the technicalities, who am I to judge ;) Still like your work!

Is that a BMW-X3 on the edge of the shore?

On pourrait chanter la chanson de François Deguelt (peut être connais tu?) c'est: il y a le ciel, le soleil et la mer, et ici une météo que nous aimerions bien avoir et que nous connaissons rarement; une photo excelle,te avec ce joli bateau au premier plan qui incite à une promenade je dirais même en solitaire
