Now a little bit about myself- I'm a software engineer based at Gurgaon, India. In a very short time, photography has become my top 'time killer' and here's how it all started-

Since the very first times my memory recalls, I’ve been amazed by the world around me – the ups and downs of life, the colors of nature, the tiny stars in a black night, the full moon and the freshness it brings, the people and their countless emotions, vibrant cultures, festivals and everything else I witnessed. Also, being born in India, it was impossible for me not to get carried away by the beauty of life. This place is just too rich for one’s senses.

My tryst with TE started accidentally. I discovered it while looking for photographs of India. Cut and then fast forward to early 2008 and I gifted myself my first camera (a Sony Cybershot) and started clicking whatever I thought was worth clicking. Some more time and I joined TE. Through photography, I wish I can justify my name ('Darpan' stands for 'Mirror'): To reflect what I see, for others to see it.

Since joining TE, I've grown as a photographer- learned a lot about framing, presentation on web and conveying feelings across thru images. Have seen some excellent photographs and been involved in some enriching discussions with other members...
