| Introducción: | Hi, Yannis, 30 years old, archivist in Carcassonne, south of France. Looking for pictures of some destinations on the web, I felt on Trekearth. I was immediatly interested because of the great quality of the photos submited and the system of critics my the members. And moreover, even if we don't have a trip, we do by the way of others' photos. Felt in photographie soon, thanks to my mother. Elsewhere, she gave me my first reflex camera, a Minolta XG-M for my 18. I came to the digital photography (reluctantly) very late, in 2007 with a compact Panasonic Lumix FX-35. Now my digital bend accelerates : I've just bought a Pentax K200 to start in digital reflex practise. I still have my silver equiment 'cause I like taking B&W photos and I appreciate the hand-crafted side of the laboratory. I do my impressions on my own, at the photo club I joined in 2006 next to Carcassonne. The trips done in family made me discover a part the Mediterranean side of Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, south of France). Since a low-cost air compagny serves Carcassonne airport, I could discover Liverpool and get back to London recently. I used to take only pictures of monuments for a long time ; now I try to take street scenes even if it's sometimes delicate. But that's what interests me much now : people on picture make it more living. And I think photography can be an eye witness of the society, the world of work, the life conditions... over the world. Next trip, the bigest I've never done : an humanitarian motor raid to the Burkina-Faso through Morocco, Mauritania and Mali. Start in january the 15th of 2009. | |
