***MY TRIP TO CAPPADOCIA*** (36 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520)
Since I was a little boy, I have always been dreaming about a trip to Cappadocia. There is an greek old saying: "Whenever you hear about a lot of cherries, take a small basket with you"! The meaning is that one should not have great expectations when he hears a lot of things about something. Cappadocia was NOT that case. I couldn't find a basket large enough for so many "cherries" I found there! Not just some extraordinary landscape, but also a place full of history and culture!
Lakes and Lagoons of Greece (Part 2) (8 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520)
The relationship between Greece and water in general is very well known, mostly because the country is surrounded by sea. Many people don't know that in Greece there are also some beautiful lakes and here are some of them (Continued from Lakes and Lagoons of Greece Theme)
Milos island-my favourite of the Cyclades (28 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520)
Milos, that magnificent island, is my absolute favourite among the Cyclades. More than 80 fantastic beaches, some of them among the most spectacular of Greece, great traditional architecture, and an open-air geological museum.
Istanbul-2010 Cultural Capital of Europe (41 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520)
Istanbul is nominated Cultural Capital of Europe for 2010, so if you need any pretext to visit this majestic city, here's one . It's a city with many diferent "faces" and countless monuments from different eras. It's many diferent cities in one, many diferent cultures side by side. It's the only city of the world that stands on 2 continents, Europe and Asia. If one city deserves the designation of "Cultural melting pot", then that's Istanbul! So, here's part of its cultural richness!
Greek nights (part 2) (36 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520)
(Continued from Greek nights theme) The subject of this theme is very simple. To gather as many nightshots I can from Greece. Greece is famous for its light, for its sun but I believe it is also "atractive" during the night hours
Best beaches of Crete (23 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520)
Just trying to gather some photos from the most beautiful beaches in Crete! Most of them are on the "less travelled and discovered" south part of the island, far from the invasion of the mass tourism (thank God!)
***"Old" Greeks*** (24 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520)
By saying "old", I don't necessarily mean their age. In this theme, I would like to gather photos of Greek people that live mostly in remote areas of the country, where everything seems to have stuck in a time, some decades ago. Most of the photos will show these people in their traditional labours, which in some cases tend to vanish.
Boats and ships (part 2) (44 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520) [Tema de grupo]
(Continued from theme Boats and ships). Most of the times, boats and ships are a sign of hope. Just by seeing a boat you imagine journeys far from the everyday life. Some other times, seeing an abandoned boat or ship, it reminds us that life can end like a shipwreck
***54 MOST RATED PHOTOS*** (54 photos) by Hercules Milas (Cretense)
(56520)
These are not necesarily my best photos, but they are my most "popular"-rated ones. There are 54 of them (3 pages in TE) so they could be a good and fast introduction to my gallery.
