Almost looks like an impressionist painting. Good composition both vertically and horizontally for a simple scene, and nice lighting.

Ian, Great, vivid colors and nice perspective. Riomaggiore was my favorite of the five Cinque Terre towns. I believe I stayed in a room in the white building in the center of your photo--my room was so small it was also cave-like. But who needs a fancy hotel room when you should be spending all your time exploring the town hiking the trails between the towns! Dave

Margo, Nice, rich colors on a damp day which is obviously autumn, I even pinned it down as October before I saw the date taken note. Although the trees and bushes have turned brown, I like the contrast you show with some grasses that somehow remain green. Yours is the only photo from Roseville, my hometown. I grew up near the Falcon Heights border. I can't tell which part of the city is in your photo, though. It's been 20+ years since I moved away and even back then I remember lots of open spaces and wooded areas were being made into housing, glad to see some of it remains. I miss the trees and greenery out here in southern California. Dave

Giorgio, The clouds bring color to your photo not just in the sky, but also by because the rain has made the grass so green and the flowers so vivid. The old (ruins) and new (flowers, grass) are a nice contrast. Dave

Tomasz, Surreal feeling. The lonely footprints, shadowed snowdrift around the tree, the trees bent toward the left, and the contrast of off-white clouds versus pure white snow draw me to your photo. Those don't look like shoe prints, are they from an animal? Dave

Stephane, Great angles and lines, I like how you lined up the edge of the shorter building with the edge of the building on the right. Good contrast of different forms of architecture, yet similar colors. Dave

Amazing shot with brilliant contrasting colors, great detail, warmth despite the snow and ice. Those three swirls in the water add interest, glad you described what they were.
