Hi Bev, Terrific winter scene. Love the way the road and fence curve up to the house. I hope there is a warm fire going. It looks really chilly with your good use of contrast. Grand work. cheers kessi

Hi Dana, I agree with bryony. This is an amazing shot and should have had loads of points. Great composition with the baboon in the centre. The leaves and branches form a wonderful frame around the subject and always move your eye back to the centre. The sunset colours are so complementary and anyone who has been to africa or lives here, like me, will know that wonderful feeling just before the sun sets and the night takes over. Super work. cheers kessi

Hi Sunandan, Great shot. I like the positioning of the subjects. The senior adressing the two guardsmen seems to hold them spellbound on the left side. You kept enough space on the right to give the men room to march off. Nice visual impact. Cheers, kessi

Hi Benedict, stunning still life and great use of the fish eye lens. The black frame and the dark background surrounding the bananas makes the bunch pop out at one. The placement of the focal point of lovely golden-brown illuminated fruit is perfect. Beautiful work and also very interesting note. kessi

Hi Brendan, I am glad you took this photograph, because I would never have seen it from this perspective. I am one of the older people and now I can also enjoy the view without the vertigo. Although, if I stare at it long enough it feels as if the ground is pulling at me....showing your feet and legs makes it real......well seen and photographed. best wishes, kessi

Hi Kev, When I first looked at this image I took a long while to study it. Had you not written a note I would have been able to deduce certain things from it.....the unique way of carrying loads, of heaving the goods sown up in sacks onto the truck....the supervisor handing a docket to the man who is responsible for the shipment....the sign tells me that this is a textile shop in a turkish steet....the grubby truck with the tilt from overloading will move off any minute and do its deliveries....maybe in Istanbul itself or even to smaller towns and villages where shopkeepers are eagerly awaiting their stock. This is the kind of activity I look for when travelling to foreign countries.....this is what the place is about. I would not change a thing in this picture. It conveys the essence of Turkey and particularly Istanbul to me. Chances are that I will never visit there, therefore your photos transport me to these places and let me wander the alleys, bazaars and experience other exotic scenes. Sometimes too little in an image is not enough. Had you taken away bits of the picture it would not have meant as much to me. The B&W does it even more justice. And if this photo where to be seen in years to come, no one will say, 'What is this supposed to depict? best wishes kessi the ubiquitous armchair traveler

Hi Bev, What a lovely time to go for a walk up the road....the red door makes a great starting point....I wonder if the neighbours have just varnished their door, it looks so new....shall we pop in....no, they are probably having their tea....lets walk on.....it is such a balmy evening......look at the creeper covering the wall....I'd like to see it in bloom.....the shadows are getting long.....lets get home and enjoy a sundowner. kessi
