The fog has helped create a soft and mysterious mood here, Nagendra, and the curves of the road nicely lead the eye through the image and provide an interesting contrast with the verticals of the trees. A lovely scene, well taken.

Hi Alan, and welcome to TE. A nice "green" shot for your first post, and I like the way the trees and the foreground grasses create a sort of internal frame. Lovely reflections of the sky in the water, too.

A beautiful, cystal clear, glimmering view of Melbourne, Vincent. Fantastic sharpness, and as Nikki notes, wonderful mauve light. Excellent - I might just make it a favourite.

Lovely light on the Yarra River and Princes Bridge, Dora, but I must correct you about the building. It's not the Vodaphone Arena (that's part of the tennis complex at Melbourne Park). The building in your shot is "Hamer Hall". It used to be called the Melbourne Concert Hall but was renamed in 2004 in honour of a previous premier of Victoria. Nice shot, though.

Lovely framing by the bare tree and the grass in the foreground, Andrew, and fantastic colours in the sky just where the three container ships are situated. Love the dark colour and the texture of the choppy water too. And yes, I would have happily traded today for one of Melbourne's beautiful Autumn days:)

Hi Dariusz. What a fascinating shot, with a great point of view from above which provides graphic impact. I'd like a little more contrast, and perhaps would have tried to time it so the rider was just a bit off centre to the right. But it's a wonderful scene and a very interesting image - well done.

Lovely shot, Richard, with this one patch of orange sky and its reflection on the water, nice graphic silhouettes of the boats, and the peaceful early morning mood. I think you made the right decision to post this version - composition is much more appealing.

Love the colour and texture of these rocks, Chris, and they are enhanced by the lovely bright green of the grass and the darker green of the forested mountains in the background. The mist in the valleys is very nice too.

Hi Dougie. This is a lovely well-balanced shot - I like the delicate clouds, and the lingering fog and it's nice the way the sunlit hill contrasts with the shaded area in the foreground. The curve of the stream adds strength and depth to the composition too. Good work.

Hello Pat. A sweet moment, this one, and you did well to recognise and capture it. The young father is obviously besotted - his expression and his protective arm say it all. How vulnerable parenthood makes us. Love the sturdy stance and the rather grumpy look of the little boy. Well composed too - you've left them space to breathe.

Yes, I do recognise this one Peter and I'm looking forward to November when I'll see a lot more of it! (Thanks for the link by the way.) What a great combination of sunlit green and stormy grey. Lovely depth from the road and the fence, and the tall tree adds a lot of strength to the composition too.

A beautiful image, Vincent - deserves more attention imo. The light is wonderful and you've captured the lovely range of outback colours superbly. Great clarity and contrast, especially considering it's a scan. Good work.

Hi Simon - what a great ghostly effect! Thanks for explaining how you achieved it. Lovely subtle colour and good texture in the old stonework too. I might prefer it just a little softer, but I like it. Interesting note too. You've inspired me to make sure we visit Heatherlie when we're in the Grampians in November.

A lovely shot, Andrew, with good strong colour and contrast. The low angled pov works well, especially with the yellow flowers in the foreground. Love the big tree and the dignified little church is very photogenic. Great sky too.

Hi Robert, and welcome to TE. I really like your point of view here which seems to emphasize the height of the buildings and the depth of the narrow street. Great to have the people to create a sense of scale. I think perhaps the shot could use a bit more contrast and a little sharpening, but I like it. Well done.
