To my VERY big surprise i see you posting here...man i didn't know that. I was following the link you send me. And see here, Namibia, high on my list but you were first once again. Seeing this one and the other ones you shot from there i can only say, awesome high quality work my friend. A place i really would like to go, just as the high dunes and the Dead Vlie
Light is gorgeous, just as the gradient in the sky and the composition.....full moon is a huge bonus of course.
You stiil know how to produce appealing images my friend, we need to go out shooting together again...if you don't come over here than i am forced to visit you in JB ;-)
Take care buddy, big hugs for both of you!!!!

I have an image in my mind about a picture from this church against the mountains and your version comes very close to what i have in mind. Snow on the peaks, great light on the church, deep greens (i need in fact snow on it) and that other beauty far away for mking the whole scenery complete. One thing i need to bring...a chainsaw to cut down those trees ;-)
Just like Kristine i see some halo effect around the mountains, but is not really disturbing, it's all about that church that looks very good.
Good you go out with your mkII, you did not bought that thing to keep it in your bag whole winter in that great surrounding ;-)
So now and then i'm peaking in here (only look at some peoples pictures, no forum), and seeing you're back, something i will not do, but it's good to see some work from your hand.
Take care my German friend,
Henk |

Hey Giant...i thought you had all your Dutch shots lost, seems this one survied.
I know where you stood, i think i passed this place hundreds and hundreds of times without stopping or even thinking in taking one single picture. You see, when living here i see nothing, while you present a picture-perfect postcard from Groningen.
At least you put this town on the map here, i think thousands of extra tourists will come out next year and flood the city ;-)
How is life buddy, all well in SA? Wrote you a mail with Bjork inside to your GMail account, hope you got it.
Take care my friend....hugs the the both of you...!!! |

Thanks for you words man, they mean a lot to me, you know that. Yes it's also crap crap crap on the other side, like on every web site, so what's new? High quality is hard to find, but also that is no surprise.
I don't miss this here, i still follow some members and the things they upload, but that's all. The other side has much more international impact, Getty is involved and for these small reasons i'm there, although i'm not prentensious at all in what i make and deliver down there.
Furthermore i'm uploading worldwide thousands of images, you know where and on which places...at the end that brings more than typing on a web site which i hardly do anymore.
How is life in SA, you are enjoying it? I was planning to send an email to your Videotron address, but maybe it's wiser to use the Gmail account? Let me know on the other side because i don't read the forum anymore here.
Take care my friend, and give the precious Wanda a big hug from me ;-)
p.s
One day we have to go out again, the two of us, and shoot these fall colours our self in Quebec or New England ;-) |

Good detail not only on the artistic print of the uniform, but also the surface texture of the cloth is quite well rendered. The strong tele-lens also gave you a fine DOF to offset the guy in the background. Well seen. |

A nice sweeping view across the vineyards, showing the pleasant and scenic location of this village. The vivid seasonal colors and details are well accentuated by the good lighting that you had when taking this photo. Good notes, too. |

A fine deep perspective along this lineup of jizo statues, well contrasted and vividly colorful. A beautiful introduction to this piece of Japanese culture, well captured.
And, finally, a humble "thank you" for putting a link to my photo :)
As a workshop, and as a present for you, I will post a photo that I took two months ago of these jizo statues at the same location. Sorry for the small size, I don't have a bigger one available at the moment. |

Nicht zuletzt auch eine sehr informative Note, wie man es von Deinen Uploads gewohnt ist. Einen guten Start in die neue Woche! |

Good choice of vertical format. |

This looks like a pleasant place that you are well presenting with the wide-angle lens that strengthens a feeling of depth and perspective, as usual in your photos. The contrast is also good, and the reflections are well utilized to amplify a quiet overall mood. I am however a little disturbed by two things: (1) the photo looks quite oversharpened, and (2) the framing/cropping is a bit unfortunate, leaving little space for the rooftops and treetops in the upper area, but instead giving a little too much attention to the not overly interesting foreground. I hope you don't mind my honest opinion here. |

Rich details in the vivid color setting, and I like the colorful signs of human life added by the flowers and umbrella. It appears to be a quiet and relaxing village.
The workshop photo is also nice, I even think it is a bit better than this main photo here. |

Wonderful light on the church, a warm glow which stands proud against that blue above and the dark almost silouette toning below.
I see some dustspots in the blue nearn and in between of the two towers.

I've never been to Brugge, but all pictures i saw from it here on TE are more or less the same, so what a surprise to see something else. No idea they also had a nice plaza, but when being there on a sunny lazy afternoon it surely looks inviting in takeing a seat there...
Have a nice weekend,
