To daddo: TE Day in Melbourne
Klaudio, I'm very sorry to have missed your question! I've not been much of a user of TE for a few years now. Even since before I moved from the US to Melbourne and that's been since our own...

Re: To dareco: Details on the adoption
Sorry Karen, I'd missed that you'd replied and just saw that. Thanks so much for the poem and prayers. And to your question, this will be our first child. Not our last, we're thinking.

Re: To Furachan: Cambodge
I had to translate what Herve said, but think I go the drift. And he's right. This area of Cambodia comes as something of a contrast to a Siem Reap. It's not a shining example of a colonial legacy,...

To dareco: Details on the adoption
Thanks so much Karen for your comment. 5 children must keep you very busy! I'm glad you found room for 3 who needed a good home.
There's not too many details yet on our process. We're going...

Re: Stolen pictures !
Not sure that the rice grain analogy holds up well for me... maybe. I think for a lot of us, it does. They're just pixels, and often not arranged in a very valuable way. But - there is some chance...

Re: Stolen pictures !
I agree with you Luc. Just because this guy has decided that these photos have no intrinsic value doesn't mean he's correct in circumventing your right to choose how they will be used or the laws...

Re: conclusion so far
People are stealing photos from ALL photo sites. There is no way to stop it from the server side, whether it is TE, Flickr or PBase. There just isn't, period. The issue is in the browser and even,...

Re: To CliffW: Thanks
Hi Andrew. No, I'd not heard about the flooding. Seems so much of that going on all around the world in the last few months. Oxfordshire; Texas... and now Victoria too.

I kinda sounded like the points thing mattered on my comment to your thread with Sohrab. Not sure that it's really that, except that your comment about the points on the shot of the kid got me...

Re: Selfish TE users
I've never, ever looked before I critiqued a picture to see what level at which the photographer participates in other ways. Some of the best photographers I've ever seen on TE haven't been big...

Re: Posting People's Faces
I agree with Rafal. It's not the same thing and all things are not equal. If you're shooting a portrait, then of course you'd ask. But that's not street photography (aka photo journalism) is. ...

Re: Unacceptable service by NIKON
I've had ok luck with Nikon in the US, but the only thing I sent in for was the recall due to the software in the D70. It freaked out and cut out the display and wouldn't auto-focus after I had it a...

Re: Competition Fraud
That's a shame. It's a great photo and I've seen it many times. I'm sure they'll pull it. If not for the copyright infringement, then the fact that was actually Kodak film used. Wouldn't that...

To ViktorVaughn: Thanks for the Ws
You may be right on the lightness thing. I'd had it lighter then darkened it a bit for drama (you know, snakes and all), but since I got this newer HD monitor, I forget how dark some images come out...

Mine really aren't of a professional quality, so selling them isn't much of a concern. Wouldn't know how to go about it if they were.
That said, I have let a few of mine be used on websites for...

Re: Uncritiqued
I don't get the chance to critique as much as I'd like to or should. I know that. I can make a lot of excuses about working 80 hours a week, other obligations, etc. All true, but I still know I...

I get to the computer for a few minutes lately, then dragged away again. So I just saw that you'd found this older shot. I'm glad you liked it - it's oddly one of my favorites, for all it's...
