email

Hi Malgo,
Oh that's too bad. I received yours after updating my e-mail address in TEn and after your second attempt checked my spam file. But the mail didn't go to other direction then. I guess I...

Thanks Malgo,
I found your message from the Spam file. And sent reply through TE forwarding. The message didn't include your email address.

To macjake: No tripod

Thanks Craig (and Luciano),
No, I didn't use tripod. I was inside through that door, in (relative) darkness.

To emka: e-mail

Thanks Malgo,
No, I haven't. It appears that my e-mail address was empty on my profile. So this stupid site didn't warn about it? I updated the address, so you can try again.

Sharpness

This subject comes up every now and then. Automatic resizing is not a good thing to image sharpness. And this actually has nothing to do with TrekEarth but the browser. In my eyes Firefox seems to do...

To mkamionka: Rook

Thanks Mariusz,
After checking Wikipedia, I'm convinced that you are right. Rooks are very rare in Finland, so to be honest I had no idea.

To macjake: Frozen lake

Thanks Craig,
I thought saying that the destination is a skerry would be enough of a clue that this is lake ice.

To lousat: Coal

Thanks Luciano,
Finland still uses some coal, mainly for district heating during winter. But coal on these wagons was shipped to some third country through the port of Tahkoluoto. I don't actually...

To jean113: Safe

Thanks Jean,
Yes, it was perfectly safe. But I don't mean that's always the case. You need to know when and where to go.

To emka: Time

Thanks Malgo,
Camera clock says it's 10:03. But I guess it was in daylight saving time, so my guess is 9:03.

To emka: The Swiss Army

Thanks Malgo,
I'm a bit surprised that you didn't know that Switzerland has an army, but that's not important. It is important that the Habsburgs knew, Napoleon knew, Mussolini knew, Hitler knew.

To emka: Plane crash near Smolensk

Thanks Malgo,
Aircraft on the crash where the Polish president died was Tupolev 154, not Tupolev 144. These supersonic jets had been withdrawn from use long time ago.

To ikeharel: Fiat?

Thanks Ike,
Well, I'm still not sure. That leaflet also says 1970. And Wikipedia page of Fiat 600 says that manufacturing in Italy ended in 1969.

Thanks Paul,
It is the same place, the camera is just pointing to different direction. Light is also different but there's only four minutes between the shots.

To emka: Cableway

Thanks Malgo,
No I didn't travel on this cableway. I used the funicular on the other side of the hill. To be honest, I didn't know about this as the cableway was built since my last visit there.

To macjake: Panning

Thanks Craig,
Yes I was panning. My camera seems to have some sort of AI helping to keep shaky shots sharp. But it doesn't understand panning well, so most of my attempts had static objects sharper...

Thanks Malgo,
The whole tram network of Tampere is new. Length of these trams is 37.3 m and Tampere has option to increase length to 47 m. Tram stops are designed for that size.
