Great Asiulus 2011-07-12 13:38

Great shot, I'd love to read more about technical difficulties(how did you protect camera, how many shots did you need to get a perfect one etc...)

Default To Asiulus: re the shot

I was on the shoreline. A rocky headland juts out from the northern end of the beach into the sea. Its not too hard to find a position close to the waves here, but you have wait patiently for the waves to brake northwards, most of them brake southwards, so the surfer is travelling away from you. We sat there for maybe 40 minutes and only three waves broke like this, northwards. Of those three waves, this was only one that a surfer caught. I got two shots, but I'm happy with the result. I've been here many times over the years, but this is the first time conditions were ideal.

thanks for your critique
Chris

Thank you for your reply!
With just 2 shots, you're either a very skilled photographer, or a very lucky one;-) Or maybe both, because the pic is really good.
Best regards
Joanna
