Great Royaldevon 2014-03-17 12:51

Bonsoir Olivier,

I have never seen this place but it does look attractive. For us, a green and white lighthouse is very unusual but I see no reason why it should not be painted that colour, especially when green is my favourite colour!
I love how you have included the mooring ring in the f/g, it right for the location, has great textures and anchors the f/g. The shimmering reflections lead nicely to the lighthouse and accompanying residence, both being gilded by the low evening sun.
I like this very much!

My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Default To Royaldevon: Green lighthouse

Hi Bev,
Green lighthouses are quite common in Brittany and France. Not the ones in sea but the ones at the entering of a river or a port as it is the case in Doëlan. When you sail into the river you have to let the green lighthouse or fire on the right, and the red lighthouse / fire on the left. This is not the same in UK ? There is a second lighthouse in Doëlan indeed, a red one on the other side of the river as you guessed it
Thanks for your comment,
