Default Scanner problems

I have a Epson scanner. I want to scan a couple of my old OM-10 Pictures. There are very sharp pictures, but when i scan they become soft and unsharp. What is the problem you think???

Regards,

robbert

Scanned picture always loose in sharpness, colour and contrast. The amount depend on the quality and the setting of the scanner. A scanned picture should always be corrected.

I've got the same problem with an HP scanner. Lately I found that the results get better using ACD-See > Embellisement de photos > Dépolluer (Sorry, my program is in French and I don't know exactly what to say in English). This takes off a lot of pollution in the image and makes it neater. I think this is a first step and that some other modifications can be brought. But I'm not an expert in postprocessing.
