Great stiginthedump 2006-10-10 11:06

This is an interesting looking wall Matt, but I find the exposure to be a little off, and out of focus as well. Maybe try a wider shot, or a close up of some of the bricks and their cracks.

I had a gander at your blog and you've got some good looking shots there. Are you going to be posting more of them?

Oh, and welcome to Trekearth!

Default To stiginthedump: print quality

Thanks for the input...

The focus, exposure etc. is a problem caused by my poor scanning of the negatives. I am working on getting a darkroom set up in January, and then will be able to see the quality of the work in true prints. Up until now, I have been scanning my negatives with a home scanner. I had an exhibition earlier this year and did everything through a digital lab. But the exhibition was sponsered and I didn't have a chance to get the digital images. Those photos, including this one, were enlarged to 16x20 and the quality was there nice. Now I'm in Korea, and I'm debating having my best pics digitally scanned onto CD. I depends on the price.

Another problem I am having, and this I don't understand at all, is that when I view a work in windows or photoshop, it is often different from the work that then is posted on the web. It can be really frustrating.

I will be putting more work up, but many of them will have the same focus problem and inconsistent exposure. If you have any suggestions on getting film to digital, or securing consistent exposure from windows to web, let me know.
