For anyone who would like to follow my example, here is the e-mail I sent to Ettore, the exhibition organizer, along with my first high-res scan. Feel free to copy the text and adapt it to your own data:
"Dear Ettore, Thank you for inviting me to participate in the Immaginario Scientifico Science Centre's TrekEarth exhibition. Due to the possibility of spam filters blocking emails occasionally, I have added a red bar in the 'Manage' section for any member whose photo has been requested. Clicking 'More Info' will be allow one to read the email and see which photos were requested.

Concerning the web page at
http://www.immaginarioscientifico.it/ita/notizie/news.htm about the IS-TE exhibition, it was edited by our press office with photos from our photo archive and doesn't giv the right title of the exhibition, which has not yet decided. It will be updated as soon as we start thinking about the promotional materials. Ettore |

No, we do not use square pictures.
1MB only gives an approximate idea of the needed image quality. Apologies for late replying. Ettore |

Ettore,
Would you be able to give a max. size in pixels? Photos for TE are max. 800 pixels wide, and I understand these are too small. What can your gear show? 2000 pixels wide? 2500? 3000? For me it would be easier to work towards a specific max. size in pixels than a max. size in MB.. |

The minimum size is 1024 pixel for the image base.
The maximum size is given by the possible problems the mail server may encounter in dealing with too large attachments. This is why we put a rough, approximate size in KB. With the additional note that we can accomodate files up to 3MB. Ettore |

I am very keen and proud to represent my country at the Italy exhibition and wish therefore to express my thanks.I would like to know how to find the number of the photos mentioned in your mail in order that I may send higher files as requested.
Thanks for your reply. Christian Hardouin |
