The reason for it hanging upside down for so long is to allow the freshly emerged legs to harden. untill this has happened it cannot grip any thing as they are like soggy pasta and need to dry. Which is why I have said before that they must not be handled at this stage. untill they are full hardened which is not till some time after the first flight any damage leads to their demise.
