Is this from the Sydney Heads?
Good bunch of turns captured here, only a pity most turn their backs on you. Light is good, though.
Don't know if this will work with turns, but for shooting seagulls here in DK it does: Choose a time when the sun and wind are both behind you as the birds will float in the air with their bill against the wind.
If these birds eat fish, you might lure them with a tin of cheap cat's food (fish variety) spread out where you want them to fly to. Up here I can usually get 15-30 minutes of shooting for less than 1 AUD worth of cat's food (if I give only some at a time..) ;-))

Thankyou for your help about the cat food. I will try it next time. I love your bug photos. I have one shot of thier front but it is not sharp. but I will keep trying.
