Excellent Picture but your facts about it are wrong.

That's an excellent picture of the black castle (as it is known by the locals here), but the information given on it is incorrect. The ruin is actually a burned-down castle, dating from ~1450, and was built by the Butlers. The church from which he name of the town was drawn is directly across the lake from this ruin, and has a cemetery beside it. they are not directly associated, however, and this ruin, or the other, is not dedicated to the virgin mary at all.
I don't mean any offence, I am not trying to put you down in any way, I only want to correct what you had written about it's history.
