Hi Simon. Bit late getting to this one, but you seemed to be having an extended hiatus there and I gave up visiting your gallery for a while. Now, of course, this one's a month and a half old and you seem to be having another break. Still, it's a terrific shot. I don't always like the blurry waterfalls that some people do, but in this case the slow shutter speed result has produced a wonderful effect of highlighting the rocks and making them look almost 3D. The scene looks almost other-worldly. I like the distant islands, but the whole thing does look a bit like a landscape above the clouds. Excellent shot.
Regards,
Andrew

Andrew,
Thanks for the kind words. My work schedule forces on me the occasional hiatus, always longer than I'd like. I entered a black-and-white version of this print in the local agricultural show down Wilson's Prom way, with some success (First Prize - $5!). I hope to have some fresher material up soon, and am about to head across to your galery for a peek. Simon |

Well, congratulations on your success; I hope you didn't spend it all at once! Actually, I wonder why you didn't post the b/w one on TE or give it a burl as a WS. Anyway, hope you get some time to upload some more shots pretty soon. I'm back in Melbourne, but with no work schedule at all. Not that I've taken any shots since getting home - I seem to have plenty of material left over for another short while at least!
Regards, Andrew |
